For three decades, the Legal Studies Institute (LSI), an affiliate of the College of Law at Florida International University, has served the legal education needs of the community by offering comprehensive professional development programs for those seeking skills to excel in the legal field. For members of the Bench and Bar, we offer continuing legal education units to enhance their expertise and satisfy requirements mandated by The Florida Bar.

LSI provides superlative training with exceptional educational value and structures its programs to accommodate the schedule of working adults. FIU Legal Studies Institute (LSI) and CORPSEC Consulting Group announce the launch of Investigative Development Studies


(Miami, FL, June 17, 2014)  – The Florida International University (FIU), the Legal Studies Institute (LSI), and the CORPSEC Consulting Group (CORPSEC), an investigative, security, and intelligence training group announces the creation of the Investigative Development Studies (IDS) program. The program will teach investigative techniques. Courses will begin October 2014.


FIU partnered with CORPSEC to expand opportunities for higher investigative education. Courses include basic Criminal Investigation to Intelligence Analytical techniques which will be led by highly trained and experienced faculty including retired U.S. Intelligence and Law Enforcement professionals from the FBI, CIA, ICE, Department of Defense, Miami Police Department, and Miami Dade Police Department. Training courses for law enforcement, private and corporate security firms will be custom-tailored to fit their particular needs and requirements.

Registration for the Fall 2014 semester begins Tuesday, July 15, 2014.

Registration deadline is Friday, September 5, 2014.

Orientation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014.

The College of Law at FIU is currently offering an LL.M. program for foreign attorneys!

The LL.M. is a post-graduate course in law for lawyers who have completed their first law degree in another country. It is composed of 24 credits and is based entirely on coursework that runs one academic year from August to May.
