CLE Programs for US attorneys: Immigration and Nationality Law

Program Description
This comprehensive course has been designed for the participant
to gain a working knowledge of the Immigration and Nationality system
and enhance your experience in the complexities of the
Immigration Law and Federal Regulations. This course is offered at two levels-Intermediate and Advanced- as classified by the Florida Bar, and CLEs are available for those who apply. Attorneys who wish to learn about immigration law or would like
an update on the latest trends and case law are encouraged to register.
Topics of discussion shall include non-immigrant visas such as NAFTA visas, E-1/E-2 trader visas, the Visa Lottery, B-1 Visitors for Business, H-1B Specialty Occupations, L-1A Intracompany Transferee Visas, and also Political Asylum. Discussions on immigrant visas shall include family-based Immigrant visas, Employment-based Immigrant visas, Labor Certifications, Adjustment of Status, and Naturalization. Additionally, issues in Ethics, Professionalism, Disciplinary Process, and Case Law will be included in the course.
These courses are designed only for attorneys licensed only in the
United States.
Upon completion of the course (Intermediate or Advanced),, attorneys will receive 33.5 CLEs from the Florida Bar, including
3 CLEs in Ethics.

About the Instructors
Randall Sidlosca joined the firm of Fowler White Burnett
(Miami branch) as a shareholder. Sidlosca focuses his practice on
representing corporate entities in all aspects of immigration and
nationality matters, including non-immigrant and immigrant
employment-based visa applications. He also represents clients in
deportation, exclusion and criminal immigration matters. In
addition to employment-based immigration, he focused on real estate,
corporate and general transactions. Sidlosca is a member of The
Florida Bar and American Immigration Lawyers Association. He was an
adjunct instructor at Nova University School of Law and is currently
and adjunct instructor at Florida International University (FIU)
where he has taught for over twelve years the Immigration
specialization to attorneys and several Immigration courses for
Paralegals and for Foreign attorneys in Spanish. Mr. Sidlosca is
and Advisory Board member of the Legal Studies Institute at FIU as
Chairman of the CLE committee.
Adam Weisholtz graduated from Nova Southeastern University,
Sheppard Broad Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with a
Jurisprudence Doctor degree, cum laude, in May 2001. He earned his
Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in 1994. Mr.
Weisholtz has worked at the Florida Department of Business and
Professional Regulation, served as law clerk for the Federal Public
Defender’s Office, Southern District of Florida. In the year 2000
performed as Summer Associate of the Executive Office of the
Governor, General Counsel in Tallahassee, Florida and worked as
Judicial Law Clerk for District Judge Robert M. Gross at the Fourth
District Court of Appeal of Florida in West Palm Beach. He is
presently Assistant Chief Counsel for the United Department of
Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in
Miami, Florida. In this capacity, he represents the United States in
all aspects of removal proceedings before the Executive Office for
Immigration Review, including pre-and post-trial motions, litigating
removal cases and taking administrative appeals. He advises ICE
officers and agents on all aspects of immigration law enforcement
matters. He is the Chairman of the Unlicensed Practice of Law
Committee 11D (11th
Circuit) of The Florida Bar since October 2005 to the present. |
